Winter Magic

Winter in the Tyrol’s Number One Ski Dimension

The Tyrol’s ski dimension, a merger of the ski areas Serfaus and Fiss-Ladis in the upper Inn valley, is a unique and distinct location. At just under 3,000 meters above sea level, this white winter wonderland offers a sophisticated and diverse range of activities and, of course, incomparable family friendliness. Serfaus is a pristine Tyrolean village that has retained its Rhaeto-Romanic influences thanks to a village underground system designed to keep traffic noise to a minimum. And efficient transport gondolas from the neighbouring towns of Fiss and Ladis bring passengers to the heart of the Tyrolean ski dimension in minutes.

A Powdery White Dream with Top Marks

The ground is easy to grip and the surface is velvety white: that is what the over 200 km of pistes are like at the Tyrol’s ski dimension, a merger of the ski areas Serfaus and Fiss-Ladis, thanks to the most technologically advanced artificial snow and lift systems. The international Mountain Management Study ranks Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis as the top ski resort in the Alps and awarded it top marks for lift comfort, friendliness and safety on the pistes, along with outstanding family friendliness.

Oh, to Be a Child

Being a child in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis – THE holiday region for families with children ― is a wonderful thing. Bertas Kinderland in Fiss-Ladis, the Serfaus Kinderschneealm snow park and Murmlipark, excellent ski schools, ideal all-day child care, three restaurants for children, an Indian village, fun areas, the Fisser Höhlenwelt cave world, a children’s snow mobile course, the Murmli Trail, the multi-media Bear Trail slope and much more guarantee that children will have fun in the snow and that parents will have some skiing and snowboarding time to themselves. This region most probably offers the best winter activities in the Alps for families with children.

Snow Stomping

Make the most intense contact with the snow you’ve ever experienced wearing large but quiet soles. Discover nature on snow shoes and travel across the untouched, powdery and crunchy snow. Bring your body in rhythm with your breath. Snowshoeing is almost as old as humans themselves. And it’s the perfect alternative to the lively and colourful bustle on the slopes. Join a guided tour. You can hire equipment at all three locations in the region.

Or make your way from summit station to summit station and taste regional culinary specialties. Breath-taking views, beautiful rest-stops and interesting informational stations on the ski history of the region await you on the Panorama Genussweg trail.

Ski Dancing

One, two, three – and now the cradle step. The cross-country ski motions of skaters are just like dancing the waltz in the snow. And there are plenty of opportunities to dance in the snow in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. The region offers 116 km of trails (18 of these are at 2,000 metres above sea level) and connect the villages of the high plateau above the Tyrolean Inn valley. And don’t forget the grandiose, breath-taking view.

If you arrive in the region without equipment, visit one of the sport shops to find what you need. And since any type of cross-country activity can make you sweat, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis has thought of everything once again: Nordic Point, the large Take-Off Snow & Fun Center at the Komperdell middle station offers athletes showers and dressing rooms, which may also be used by day visitors.

Tobogganing and Sledding

Ready for some fast-paced tobogganing? A total of 10 km of toboggan runs in the region offer sledding fun for the whole family. And you can experience the adventure at night too! Be sure to try something new on the lit run at the weekly Adventure Night in Serfaus or at Fiss’s night tobogganing program, which includes a cosy fondue meal at the Möseralm mountain restaurant. Ice skaters and curling enthusiasts will get their money’s worth at the Lader Schlossweiher pond.

The First Tracks

Be the first to make tracks on the freshly fallen snow in the early morning on a weekly ski-trek, guided by professionals, and then sit down to an exclusive mountain breakfast.

Or experience the mountain on your own personal ski tour route with a glittery-white panoramic view!

Whizzing and Whooshing

For those who want to get a different perspective of the region along with an adrenaline rush, the Serfauser Sauser, Fisser Flieger and Skyswing are the perfect flying machines, even in the winter. The Serfauser Sauser conquers an amazing flight path of over 2,000 metres at speeds up to 65 km/h.

The Fisser Flieger, similar to a hang glider, soars above snow-white mountainsides and makes you feel like a bird.

You’ll have butterflies in your stomach when you take a trip on the Skyswing in the Möseralm in Fiss. With the touch of a button, the swing free falls with its passengers twelve metres. Once it reaches the bottom you experience the opposite effect and the rush: weightlessness.

Wherever you go, there is always a place to relax! Take a break at one of our numerous rest-stops with ergonomic relaxation loungers, comfortable hammocks or furniture for kicking back. Revitalize and soak up the sun on a whim!
